Books! I love to give books for gifts! More importantly, I love to give the gift of reading to our youth. I have always loved reading from a child. Before I was born, my mom and dad created a library for me full of awesome children's books, some of which I still have today to share with my three little bears. My mother instilled the value of reading and writing long before I could read or write. Nightly, she read to me and I read to her as I blossomed as a reader. Now that I have three little bears of my own, the children's book worm has inched its way into my heart again.My oldest bear reignited my passion for children's literature after so many years suppressed by an ideal career following college graduation. He inspired me greatly. I began writing little stories as he learned about the world around him. My favorite story is about his adventures during potty training. I hope to have this story published as I begin my career as a published children's book author. This book worm's apple did not fall far from the tree. He began reading at an early age and has developed his own passion for reading and writing. Now, he and I together share this wonderful gift with his little sister and baby brother. Their father and I, just like my parents, created a library of children's books for them to encourage a love for books and inspire them to become excellent readers.
After nearly 14 years in Federal law enforcement, I decided to begin my second career as a full-time mommy, author, and bookseller. I began my new journey by going to bookseller's school and creating Read About Me! Personalized Children's Books.
Read About Me! Personalized Children's Books is awesome! I began creating these wonderful personalized books in 2007 in my spare time, and now it is my full-time pleasure. Every time I create a personalized book, I know that it will be a lasting keepsake for many, many years. What's a better way to make reading fun for our youth than to read a book about themselves? I am able to use my passion to inspire our future readers, writers, and illustrators through Read About Me!'s Read and Write Community Project. I am creating books from a brilliant group of 1st graders who authored and illustrated their own stories. I can't wait to share this with you in an upcoming blog.
